It's a fictional streetscape we wander, here, a metropolis whose buildings, boulevards, and back alleys are in a constant state of flux. This is every place, and yet, no place at all - a city of dreams and a dream of a city.

Here, we explore the life and work of Ivan Illich and his circle of collaborators. There's no comprehensive index to the articles published, but we invite you to use the Search box, to the left, and to explore the Archive links that appear at the bottom of each page. Comments are welcomed.

I wanted to give all you readers and followers of this blog the sad news that Winslow, my husband, passed away last year.....

Illich was one of his biggest passions, and it upset him that he couldn't write as much as he wanted to, as he had thoughts and material, towards the end.

I still can't believe he is gone.
So is this blog.......

Thanks for reading his writing. It meant a lot to him.

My email:

If you use any of his writing from this blog, please, cite John Winslow Verity as the author, so he will be remembered in his writing! Thank you.
